First "Letter Grade" report card

K-2 all they got was AL (above level), OL (on level), etc.  Now, for the first time, they get actual letter grades.  Color me proud!!!

Happy Halloween!

Katey and I were both very happy with how her costume turned out.  It's aways a little iffy when you created your own with NO clue how it's going to turn out.  With the help of a little smoke and mirrors, we pulled it off and I think she had the cutest costume out there!!!  Needless to say after a full day of school (up at 6am), gymnastics for 2 hours and then trick-or-treating, she could barely make it up the stairs to bed.  Another successful haunting!!

....and they're OFF!

9 months later, the braces are off!  Katey is beyond excited!  They took them off this morning and then we headed back this afternoon to pick up her retainer (to be worn at night).  After that, we went straight to Target to buy everything sticky, chewy, gummy, etc. that she's been unable to eat.  Happy Girl!

Meet #2

Very exciting as Katey got a medal on each individual event and 4th in the All-Around!  She improved each of her scores.......the sky's the limit!  She loves it!!!

First meet

Katey had a wonderful first meet!!  She was pretty nervous considering she has just joined Team and the other girls have been on for 6+ more months than her.  She held her own and did great......already qualified for State which in itself is huge!!  SO proud that she got 5th All-Around.......can't wait for the next meet!!!  ROCK ON MY LITTLE GYMNAST!!!

Fun party with her BFF's at the Columbia.  Everyone had a great time..........Sangria was great, said the Moms!!!  Happy Birthday Katey!

Recital

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Mom, Ginny and Susan for braving the pouring rains to come to Katey's recital........I know she was thrilled that you were there!!!  Oh, thank you also to Greg for driving us over there....much nicer being the passenger in that weather.  Recital (especially since Katey was in the first half and we could bolt afterwards!) was a success.  Katey was great!  Now we just need to head out to gymnastics this morning (9-12) and then we are DONE!  ........well, for today at least......sigh.  Dance on my friends.........

Former and Future Olympians!

Okay, so the "former" is a definite as Katey met Dominique Moceanu at LaFleur's on Saturday......the "future" is up to her since I know she'll accomplish whatever she sets out to do!  Not happy with the grainy photos (left the mac-daddy at home and used the iPhone) but it was a real thrill all the same.  I remember watching Dominique (at 14!) at the Olympics in Atlanta.  Katey had her sign her book (a gift from Gam) and chatted for a few minutes.  Very cool!!!

deja vu?

Katey had her second meet today with the same results........all blue ribbons!  Not to brag.........well, maybe a little......she was the only girl in the whole meet that got all blues.  Needless to say that we are thrilled and proud and thrilled and proud........a pattern is developing.  Rock on Katey!!!!

Delish!

Katey and I went on a little adventure down to Ybor today. She had never been to the "original" Columbia and we figured it was about time. We devoured our cuban bread, 1905's and black bean soup. Absolutely delish! I was so sorry when it was all gone........naturally, I practically licked my plate! Afterwards, we walked down to CentroYbor and saw "The Three Stooges." So, not the best movie ever, but definitely not the worst. A fun adventure!!!

Go Rays!

As always, we had a great time at the Rays game. A bonus too that they won! In honor of Earth Day, all the kids got special hats and Katey got herself a cowbell. Fun, but exhausting day!
