No school!

School is closed this week so today went to Busch Gardens with Anthony, Katey's friend from school and his Mom, Sita. We ran around for 3 hours and got out of there before the major crush of the crowd. Katey's going to miss Anthony next year because he starts kindergarten at a new school. :(

Self Portrait

Katey whipped this out as we were waiting for gymnastics to start yesterday. While it's not one of her normal majorly colorful drawings, the significance (to me) is that is the first time she's drawn herself with "Asian" hair......I thought it was kind of cool.

Hoochie Coochie Dance

Today was the end-of-the-year program and Katey's teacher wanted her to sing a solo. The "problem" arose when Katey realized that if she sang the solo, she wouldn't be able to do "the dance" with the other girls. The song was "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini." The dance is what I refer to as the "hoochie coochie" and I wasn't totally thrilled with it. BUT, I figured for 2-3 minutes I could bear it. It was funny, and Katey was awfully adorable, so I survived.......I'm sure I'll have many more "worse" things to survive in the years to come so I'd better get used to it! :)

Move over Nadia!

We've had a busy weekend. Friday night we went to Princesses on Ice (the Flounder hat came with a big ole bag of cotton candy), Saturday morning Katey and Ty (our friend from school) had their first gymnastics class and then Mommy and Greg went to a wedding. Mommy is ready to do a whole lot of nothing today......well, besides grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and the usual daily fare. Here are a few pictures......gotta document it all! :)

The first recital...

Today was Katey's first dance recital. She and her fellow bumble bees "danced" to Sugar Sugar by The Archies. We were #3 in the program.......one of my friend's child was #15, another, #22. We buzzed out of there as soon as Katey was finished!

Great afternoon!

I got an unexpected, but exciting, surprise the other day when Gina Sorrells emailed and told me that they were coming to Tampa for a few days. We traveled in China with Gina and her husband Steve when they were there to "get" Abigail. We met them at the park this afternoon, along with their other daughter Anna Grace, and had a wonderful visit. It was fun catching up and the weather was awesome........well, compared to their weather in NJ this time of year, that's not saying much ;) but it was a very nice day. Now if we could just get all 4 of the GaoZhou girls together in the same place at the same time......one day we'll pull it off!!! Lesa, I thought of you when Anna Grace found a lady bug!
